Hungarian Yellow Wax pepper
current status: growing inside
years grown: 2009-2016
notes: A 4-6in pepper with a bit of a bite; hot enough that you don't want to, say, toss them in a salad without warning people. They are a greenish-yellow initially but ripen to orange and then red. Earliest harvest 52 days from transplanting.
(There may be some confusion over the name of the cultivar, or the cultivar with the name, from different sources; I've seen Hungarian Yellow Wax peppers sold as sweet peppers, and there also exists something called Hungarian Hot Wax. All I know is that ours are spicy, and that's the name on the packet.)
