Apple is making a phone? Really?

Apples iPhone is coming out in a couple of days, and people can't seem to stop talking about it. News media people, that is: they seem to think it's a pretty big deal and want to catch some of that magic for themselves, I guess. However, since nobody knows anything about the phone and they ran out of cheery speculation they're now on to pronouncements of doom. Anything to keep the story on the front page (of the business section, at least). Did you know that the phone's slick exterior means there users will be at significant risk of dropping it?
